The Timeline

Story order is a fan-friendly approximation for browsing, not an official studio document. Where there is a main continuity it runs down the left, and dashed branches are genuine spinoffs, prequels, or in-story forks, connected where they split off. Unconnected lines never forked from anything: a remake retells one story a second time, while a universe is a whole separate continuity recasting the same characters — DC runs several side by side with no main line at all. An alternate cut is the exception: a second version of one particular film, joined to it by a short connector. Drag sideways (or scroll) if it doesn't fit.
